Features

Stafford Comes of Age – Despite being in the twilight of his RC career, Ellis Stafford was able to take TQ and the win as the national series headed to Kent and EPR for round three of the 1:10 off-road championship.

Euro Express – LRP’s preparation for the EFRA European Championships started with the warm-up for the 1:10 off-road event in Spain, whilst their drone range expands with the Gravit Dark Vision 2.4GHz quad.

Turkish Delight – This month’s readers’ ride feature is a truly custom made body for a TFL Racing Pro scale chassis from Kaan Salli. The Turkish resident has chopped up a D90 body to make this one-off D45 Storm Trooper.

Body Beautiful – This month’s feature on the Red Bull Racing F1 build sees the focus on the body of the RB7 with the upper and lower sections, as well as the bargeboards and turning vanes with the end result adding to the impressive presence of this scale model.

Bloomfield on Top – Darren Bloomfield was the latest name on the winner’s trophy at the BRCA 1:8 Off-Road Nationals after Elliott Boots and Neil Cragg had taken rounds one and two respectively. The Herts Nitro Model Club hosted the third round, and it was the former British and European Championship who would race to victory with his Bullitt-powered Agama.

Stars of the Show – ADH Publishing had staff present at the annual Shizuoka Hobby Show based in Tamiya’s home town. Naturally the manufacturer with the twin stars logo dominated the show so we had a good look at their stand and checked out the latest releases.

Revival Prep Two – Revival regular Iain Groom and Nick Stokes bring us up to date with progress on their cars whilst we find out exactly what the draw is of vintage racing courtesy of Leon Dyson and Alex Tudor-Hart.

Reviews

Tamiya TT-01E Team Hahn – There will be little doubt what you are running when the MAN TGS bodied TT-01 Type E truck hits the pavement or the race track. Already with a huge following – no pun intended – it may be based on a proven and well-established chassis but the race truck multi-part Lexan shell certainly demands attention on and off the track.

HoBao Hyper GT – Using their extensive knowledge of the demanding 1:8 off-road race scene, the latest Hyper model is the GT electric on-road car. Equipped with a powerful Hobbywing brushless system and running on 14.8V of LiPo, this hatchback is a serious pocket rocket!

Team Durango DEX410v5 – As the name suggests, the v5 is the fifth incarnation of the distinctive DEX410 platform, although with a brand new electrical layout this 4WD buggy arguable contains the biggest change since its release. Once built, we handed the chassis over to a couple of testers to put it through its paces and offer a little advice on set-up.

BSR Racing BZ-222 Pro ARR – Hot on the wheels of the original, the latest version of the BZ-222 features the option to move the gearbox and other updates after listened to customer’s feedback. Packed with carbon fibre and alloy components, the Pro ARR requires just a radio set, a battery pack, foam inserts and tyres to get up and running, which is exactly what we did at the Surrey and Hants club.
