62 THUNDERSLOT LOLA T70 GT
UPDATE

enough for Thunderslot, who want their
new car to be perfect. What did they do?

WORKSHOPS
32 VACFORM BODY JIG
Mounting a clear vacuum formed bodyshell
onto a chassis without getting it twisted, in
the wrong place, or simply ruining it takes
skill and practice. Of course if you had one
of James Cleave’s new body jigs you would
get it right every time.
46 SLOT CAR MOTORS
You buy your new car and put it on the track
– then wonder why it is faster or slower than
the last one. Probably because the motor
is more or less powerful ! We take a look at
the most common motors you will find in the
cars you buy and tell you the differences.

VINTAGE MERCER V8
Would you race a car over 100 years old
with an 11 Litre V8 aero engine and tyres
as wide as the average pram? Neither
would we, but people did back then. In
respect of those drivers, Pete Simpson
builds a replica of a typical racing car,
but can’t find a riding mechanic brave enough to go in it.
